AuthenTec, Melbourne, Fla., a provider of fingerprint sensors and solutions, has announced that its fingerprint sensor has been integrated into the new Motion Computing J3400 rugged tablet PC, offering Power of Touch features including security, convenience and personalization. The J3400 tablet, which offers all day battery life and an industry-leading bright outdoor display, integrates AuthenTec’s AES2550 fingerprint sensor to protect the tablet PC, its stored data, and the networks to which it connects.

Based on the Company’s patented TruePrint technology, the AES2550 reads below the surface of the skin to the live layer, where a person’s true fingerprint resides. This subsurface approach enables AuthenTec sensors to overcome common skin surface conditions to read virtually every fingerprint, every time. TruePrint also allows AuthenTec to provide the smallest sensors on the market, yet provide the same security afforded in its larger form factor devices.
