Chaz Balogh

After thirty-five (35) years in law enforcement, Retired Detective Sergeant Chaz Balogh retired from the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office where he was responsible of overseeing the Luzerne County ICAC Task Force. Chaz was a member of the ICAC Task Force for sixteen (16) years. In 2018, Chaz graduated from Jordan Detection K9 as an ESD K9 handler for K9 Spike. During this time, K9 Spike was deployed hundreds of times. Currently, Chaz is employed by Our Rescue as a Law Enforcement Relationship Manager, North America Operations. Chaz oversees the ESD K9 program. In 35 years of law enforcement, Balogh has received specialized training in the field of crimes against children, human trafficking, several ICAC training programs, computer crimes including computer and mobile (digital) forensics, interview and interrogation, and basic and advanced practical homicide investigation, investigating child fatalities, Olweus Bullying program and several crime prevention trainings. Chaz as been a presenter at numerous national conferences. Chaz has been awarded the OUR Rescue Fiat Justitia Award- August 2023, Hometown Hero – July 2022, Luzerne County Child Advocacy ‘s Guardian Shield Award- April 2022, Key to the City of Wilkes Barre for his Crime Prevention efforts to improve Neighborhood Safety in Rolling Mill Hill - July 1998 and in October 1999, Chaz was awarded the Governor’s Highway Safety Award for Safety Education.
