He has 20 years of experience in government communications, following a 20-year career in journalism, covering government and elections for a variety of news organizations across the country, including the Associated Press. || Justin Graney is the Chief of External Affairs and Communications for North Carolina Emergency Management  and has served as a firefighter, EMT, and emergency manager for nearly 25 years, having served in various state emergency response team leadership roles through Hurricanes Matthew, Florence, and Helene,  as well as the COVID-19 pandemic in North Carolina.
