Matthew Hudak

Matthew Hudak is a highly respected executive with over 26 years of service in the U.S. Border Patrol. As a former Deputy Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the 20,000-employee organization, a role akin to Chief Operating Officer. His work included oversight of law enforcement operations, mission readiness, budget management, personnel development, and the strategic deployment of resources and technologies. Hudak played a pivotal role in guiding the agency through critical incidents and periods of intense public scrutiny, demonstrating his ability to lead in complex and dynamic environments. In addition to his time as Deputy Chief, Hudak also served as Acting Deputy Director at the Department of Homeland Security in 2016. Following his retirement from federal service in December 2023, Hudak founded MH Secure Strategies, where he provides strategic consulting to security and government support industries, leveraging his decades of experience in organizational growth, operational strategy, and technology integration. Marking another chapter in his commitment to supporting the legacy and mission of the Border Patrol, Hudak joined the Board of Trustees of the Border Patrol Museum in January 2025.
