Privately made firearms known as "ghost guns" are difficult for law enforcement to trace.

A total of 10 defendants are charged across four grand jury indictments and a criminal complaint.

Over the span of less than two years, 46 out of the 49 firearms that were subjects of charges in Turner’s case were transferred from Turner to two known, prior-convicted felons.

Several firearms were seized, including a Glock pistol loaded with a 30-round magazine found in a backpack that Mayer carried around campus.

A search of the vehicle recovered 14 privately made firearms (also known as ghost guns), hundreds of rounds of ammunition and numerous firearm parts.

Investigators with the task force and the ATF canvassed the neighborhood and learned that the suspect vehicle had been seen in the area about 30 minutes prior to the shooting.  

This interaction between Holmes and the undercover ATF agent inside the car was captured on a video recording device from inside the undercover agent’s vehicle.
