Border Patrol Agent Charged with Trading Child Porn While on Duty

A U.S. Border Patrol agent reportedly admitted Tuesday to trading pornography online while on duty, according to Syracuse.com.

According to a felony complaint filed in federal court, agent Keith Hook, 54, of Oswego, N.Y., used an online alias to trade images and videos with other individuals. After federal authorities confronted Hook on Monday, he allegedly admitted to “receiving and distributing child pornography using the Kik app both at home and while at work” for three to four years, the complaint said.

Hook was charged with distributing child pornography, which carries up to 20 years in prison.

Department of Homeland Security Special Agent Brad Brechler said in the complaint that an undercover agent initiated online dialogue with “Capthook1064,” who sent suspected child pornography in late April and early May. Investigators traced the IP address to Hook’s home.
