American Military University Becomes Newest CyberPatriot Sponsor

The Air Force Association has announced American Military University (AMU) as the newest Cyber Silver sponsor of its flagshipSTEM program, CyberPatriot. AMU, part of accredited American Public University System (APUS), is the number one provider of higher education to the US armed forces, offering 200+ career-relevant degree and certificate programs that help prepare students for leadership roles both within the military and for transition to post-military careers.

Founded in 1991 to educate those who serve, AMU today caters to adult learners in both the military and public service communities who share a common motivation for continuing their education and preparing to reach their career potential.

"Support from industry and academia is vital for growing the CyberPatriot program," said CyberPatriot National Commissioner Bernie Skoch. "American Military University’s mission aligns with that of CyberPatriot and we couldn’t be happier to have them on board."

"We’re proud to partner with the Air Force Association to support the success of the CyberPatriot program," said John Aldrich, vice president, military, veterans & educational partnerships, for American Public University System. "Our organizations share a commitment to providing a robust educational experience grounded in practical, real-world applications to help ensure that students are best equipped for career success."

CyberPatriot, the nation’s largest and fastest growing youth cyber education program,is the Air Force Association’s flagship STEM initiative dedicated to strengthening cyber skills among American youth and exciting students toward careers in STEM. Students in the program gain valuable knowledge from the expertise of CyberPatriot’s many supporters, including the Northrop Grumman Foundation, CyberPatriot’s presenting sponsor.

Other program sponsors include Cyber Diamond sponsors AT&T Federal and the AT&T Foundation, Cisco, Microsoft, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense; Cyber Gold sponsors Facebook, Riverside Research, Splunk, Symantec; and Cyber Silver sponsors the Air Force Reserve, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Leidos, and University of Maryland University College.
