US Senate approves FBI veteran as new TSA chief

p> Pistole "sailed through his confirmation process without controversy," the heads of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security, independent Joe Lieberman and Republican Susan Collins, said in a statement.
A 26-year veteran of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and its deputy director since 2004, Pistole takes over the TSA at a time of heightened awareness over terrorist attacks.
