In line with the directive given by India’s Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, Hyderabad International Airport has commenced a three-month body scanner trial on a voluntary basis at the domestic departures terminal.
Upon successful completion of trials and subsequent regulatory approvals, additional body scanners will be installed across the terminal. The scanners operate on the SAFE Radio Wave Security System, which is an image free scanning technique.
The trial has so far received positive reviews from passengers. Other Indian airports, including Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore are also known to have initiated body scanner trials.
