Agilex Awarded Flexible Agile Development Services Contract by US Citizenship and Immigration Services

Agilex announced that it was awarded a Flexible Agile Development Services (FADS) contract by US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). FADS is an innovative, new multi-award contract (MAC) that USCIS will utilize for agile software development services. The award to Agilex is to support accelerated development of USCIS’ Electronic Immigration System (ELIS).

“USCIS has been a pioneer in using agile methodologies to revitalize their IT development practices. We are excited and honored to expand our relationship with USCIS, working with them to meld our agile expertise with their industry foresight,” said Matt Warren, president of Agilex’ Justice & Homeland Security Sector. “Our focus has always been to effect the heart of our customer’s mission, and FADS will do so by automating and enhancing the agency’s IT systems to provide faster and electronic immigration services.”

USCIS has embraced agile practices and techniques to transform how the agency develops and delivers new IT systems. FADS is designed to provide access to fully integrated agile teams as needed, and to encourage a stronger focus on quality and performance. It will be used to support one of USCIS’ most strategic IT programs, which is development of ELIS as an intuitive, adaptive, customer-centric solution for managing visa applications and related travel documentation.

Agilex will work with USCIS to establish an integrated team environment for the FADS contract, using methodologies like the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to enable more rapid, high quality software delivery. Each self-contained team may include software developers, QA testers, continuous integration engineers, Certified Scrum Masters and other resources as needed.

Agilex is a leading provider of agile software development services and solutions to the federal government. The company is also the creator of the DevOps Factory, a comprehensive agile software development Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) used by a variety of federal agencies and programs. Agilex was recognized as the 2013 Northern Virginia Technology Council’s (NVTC) Innovator Award winner for Agile Systems Development.

The FADS contract award to Agilex was made through the CIO-SP3 Small Business government-wide acquisition contract (GWAC) and has a total contract ceiling value of approximately $58 million.
