- Can be taken anywhere
- Give results within 30 minutes (no lab drop-off required)
- Work whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms
- Work whether or not you are up to date on your COVID-19 vaccines
- Are also referred to as self-tests or over-the-counter (OTC) tests
The Department of Defense, in coordination with the Department of Health and Human Services, has been leading the contracting process to acquire a billion total test kits. The administration is partnering with the United States Postal Service to package and deliver tests to Americans that want them. All orders in the continental United States will be sent through First Class Package Service, with shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, and the U.S. Territories and APO/FPO/DPO addresses sent through Priority Mail.
“The United States Postal Service is proud to fulfill its mission of service to the nation by delivering COVID test kits as part of this important public health initiative of the Biden Administration,” USPS said in a statement.
Those without access to order online can get tests through the White House’s COVID tests call line at 1-800-232-0233. More than 150 languages are supported and the hours are 8 a.m. until midnight EST, seven days a week.
