U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized over 100 pounds of cocaine in a suitcase at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Wednesday. The drugs were discovered in a suitcase that arrived from Quito, Ecuador.
“This seizure is another example of CBP officers being vigilant in protecting the United States from the distribution of dangerous drugs,” Troy Miller, director of CBP’s New York Field Office, said in a statement.
No information on an arrest was provided, and the investigation is ongoing. The drugs were turned over to Homeland Security Investigations and the Port Authority Police Department.
