CBP Opens Fort Bragg Recruitment Office to Hire Transitioning Soldiers

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has made it simpler for transitioning soldiers at Fort Bragg to search for their next career.

“We would like to recruit as many servicemembers as possible to come and continue their career with CBP,” said Bob Graczyk, a Supervisory Customs and Border Protection Officer. “They have served our country with the U.S. military, and now we would like to offer them a career with CBP continuing to defend and protect our nation as CBP officers, Border Patrol agents, Air and Marine agents, and other support positions nationwide.”

CBP opened the office at Fort Bragg as part of a Special Emphasis Recruitment Team, focusing on recruiting transitioning servicemembers through event-based outreach. As of Sept. 30, 2016, SERT has conducted 29 events on military installations nationwide with more than 2,000 attendees, resulting in more than 940 applications through Veterans Recruitment Appointment announcements.

Veterans comprise approximately 28 percent of CBP’s workforce, and disabled veterans comprise approximately 6 percent. Veterans are also afforded an expedited application process, often getting hired in less than a year.

“Many of the servicemembers have obtained valuable knowledge, skills and abilities while serving our country,” Graczyk said. “We would love to have them continue serving our country with CBP.”

The CBP Recruitment office is located in Bldg. 3-1318, 2801 Old Stable Lane on Fort Bragg, and is open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday- Friday. Two-hour briefings are conducted each Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and spouse briefings are conducted at the Army Community Service Employment Readiness Programs Center.
