The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) announced today an impressive group of special guests that will headline its 5th Annual National Cybersecurity Summit.
The Summit will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, Ga. and is being held in partnership with the Atlanta University Center Consortium (AUCC), the nation’s world’s oldest and largest consortium of historically Black colleges and universities.
The full-day agenda will feature remarks from CEOs and prominent cybersecurity experts including Tom Fanning, CEO of Southern Company, and Cybersecurity Journalist Nicole Perlroth. They will discuss how companies are and should be thinking about innovating and building security into their core business functions, understanding cyber risk is a business risk and a thoughtful discussion about how, from the CEO’s suite – the lessons we’ve learned and what’s to come.
Also joining the Summit are Tennisha Martin from Black Girls Hack and Ally Hopkins from Microsoft to discuss how they see themselves in cyber. Both women bring diversity to the forefront of the workplace and will discuss more about how organizations can increase diversity now, ways that industry and government are preparing for tomorrow’s threats, and more.
Ashley Gramby from Girls Who Code and Lauren Zabierek, Director of the Cyber Security Project at Harvard’s Belfer Center and co-founder of #ShareTheMicInCyber, will be participating in lightening round discussions to talk about diversity within cybersecurity. Additionally, Ria Aiken from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta will be joining a panel to not only discuss the evolution of cyber threats across local government, hospitals, private companies and for individuals, but discussions on ransomware and what organizations and individuals alike can do to protect themselves.
CISA Director Jen Easterly will host the Summit, delivering opening and closing remarks.
“I couldn’t be more excited for CISA’s 5th Annual Cybersecurity Summit in Atlanta. We have an incredible lineup, bringing together some of the top experts, advocates and leaders in the world of digital security. Their partnership has helped us set the tone for how our nation addresses cybersecurity for the next several years and their insight is incredible. I can’t wait to bring that thoughtfulness to this year’s summit,” said CISA Director Jen Easterly. “This year’s agenda is jampacked with thoughtful panel discussions and frank dialogue that will help move the needle on cybersecurity and help us better see ourselves in cyber.”
