HSToday has learned that Deputy TSA Administrator Huban Gowadia announced Russell Roberts as TSA’s new assistant administrator for Information Technology. In the announcement she said that Roberts’ technical expertise and extensive background in information technology management, policy and security operations make him a valuable addition to the agency’s senior leadership team.
Roberts has served as TSA’s deputy chief information officer since 2014 and oversaw the full portfolio of IT programs and functions at TSA. He has a proven track record of technical expertise and leadership involving IT systems at TSA.
Previously, Roberts held a number of leadership positions at TSA, including executive director for Mission Operations in the Office of Information Technology and executive director for Mission Essential Services in the Office of Intelligence and Analysis.
