Two More Members of TSA Workforce Lost to COVID-19

TSA continues to urge that all employees get vaccinated and to follow CDC guidance, including mask requirements.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has announced the sad passing of two more team members.

Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) Supervisory Transportation Security Officer Patricia “Ann” Sessom, died recently after contracting COVID-19. Sessom is fondly remembered as being happy, energetic and a positive influence at work. She began her TSA career in June 2012 and was committed to the TSA mission. Sessom is the third IAH officer lost to the disease in the past few weeks.

Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) Transportation Security Officer Hakop Armatuni, has also passed away after contracting COVID-19. Armatuni joined TSA in June 2008 and worked his entire career at BUR. His peers will remember his gentle and reserved demeanor, which became respectful and gregarious for those who knew him well. He is the 21st TSA employee to pass away after contracting COVID-19, and he will be sorely missed by the close-knit team at BUR.

TSA continues to urge that all employees get vaccinated and to follow CDC guidance, including mask requirements.

Homeland Security Today offers condolences to officer Sessom’s and officer Armatuni’s families, friends and coworkers, and recognizes their long service.
