‘We Want to Bring Back Americanism’: 9/11 Remembrance Climb at Jacobs Ladder Aims to Educate Youth

6th annual 9/11 remembrance climb sees a visit from the University High School’s JROTC

The Heart of Texas Marine Corps organized the sixth annual 9/11 remembrance climb at Jacobs Ladder in Waco’s Cameron Park.

Heart of Texas Marine Corps Commandant, Rolando Hernandez, organized the first climb at Jacobs Ladder six years ago. After seeing the climb organized in Dallas, he said he wanted to organize one in Waco.

“Not only was that a tragic day, but the day after,” Hernandez said. “That was when our country got together. We prayed for each other. We helped each other to move on. That’s what I want people to understand about this stair climb.”
