The 2024 GTSC Members and Strategic Advisors of the Year

The Government Technology & Services Coalition awards a select number of exceptional members each year — members who take their time, resources, and devotion to mission to give back to our organization. We could not thrive, grow, and serve the homeland security community without them. Whether it’s representing our nonprofit to ensure that the perspectives of small businesses are included, responding to national emergencies like the COVID-19 pandemic, or working to make the procurement and acquisition process better, these companies have notably succeeded in business and they have given back to our community to help all of us thrive and serve the homeland mission better. We are extremely proud and honored to announce our annual GTSC Member Awards:

GTSC Small Business of the Year

KAPCOM Services

Small and Mighty is how we at GTSC would describe the team at Kapstone Technologies, and most recently, their new arm, KAPCOM Services.  A provider of IT services to a number of federal partners, and now to commercial small businesses, our pick for Small Business of the Year is a woman-owned small business that is an asset to both GTSC AND our government partners.  The real win here for GTSC was when Kap-Com reconfigured and rationalized GTSC’s IT systems, refreshed our website (more to come!), and generally helped us navigate the new tools and technologies available to small businesses (and of course non-profits). Working with their team has helped GTSC be stronger, better, and mightier by automating certain functions, addressing a number of online challenges, and collaborating to find the best solutions for our organization.  Kudos to Team KAPCOM!

GTSC Mid-Tier of the Year

RELI Group

Membership organizations thrive when the members are as active and engaged as the amazing principals at the RELI group.  GTSC has come to RELI on them!

Throughout the year, the RELI group has supported GTSC’s programming, contributed to thought leadership, provided valuable market intelligence, and participated in collaborations with subject matter experts across numerous homeland security topic areas. Their team pitches in to help with activities even in other states!  Their drive and commitment to the homeland mission come through in every collaboration with us.  Huge thanks to the RELI team!

GTSC Mentor of the Year

Deloitte

When Deloitte principals from across their homeland security vertical met with GTSC to discuss ways we could collaborate who knew the great things that would bring! From hosting GTSC collaborations to supporting GTSC programming, Deloitte teams have supported numerous programs throughout the year and contributed to the thought leadership and planning of a number of meetings.  Additionally, Deloitte “leaned in” at HSToday collaborating with us during Cyber Security Awareness Month and contributing to our CSAM event, CYBERFUTURE.  We appreciate the dedication of the teams and are proud to award Deloitte our Mentor of the Year.

GTSC Mentor of the Year

Robin Champ, Vice President, Strategic Foresight, LBL Strategies

We are extremely fortunate to have a number of Strategic Advisors who really “lean-in” to support our organization and who contribute significantly to our ability to support the homeland security enterprise. Robin Champ is our Strategic Advisor of the year for her incredible commitment to GTSC and her willingness to contribute her time and insights with all of our GTSC members.  Since becoming and Advisor, Robin has added a column to Homeland Security Today, and a session to each of our GTSC days, around Strategic Foresight – the process for exploring and anticipating possible future developments to help organizations and policymakers prepare for change.  Before each GTSC day Robin publishes a column about future foresight “hits” – major developments that have the potential to impact an agency — and some of the considerations that should be made to adapt.  This insight allows all of us to “lift our head” for a moment to think about how we must be positioning for the future – contributing significantly to our ability to prepare, align, and position, to thrive. We are extremely proud to have Robin Champ on our team!

Strategic Partner of the Year

Center for Homeland Security & Defense, Naval Post Graduate School

This year, the Center for Homeland Security & Defense partnered with Homeland Security Today to bring more of their professors, authors, students, and content to the broader homeland security conversation.  We could not be more thrilled with the partnership that helps provide a voice for leaders across the country to collaborate at HSToday on the most important challenges facing the future of homeland security.  Known as one of the most well-respected educational institutions for homeland security leaders, CHSD brings the experience, real-world understanding, and leadership acumen of their students to our readership.  The partnership also encourages further leadership development, opportunities to learn more about CHSD specialties and programs. We are thrilled to name the Center for Homeland Security & Defense as our Strategic partner of the year!
