The Senate has confirmed Margaret Weichert as deputy director at the Office of Management and Budget.
Weichert joined OMB last year as a senior adviser and she was unanimously voted in by the Senate on Wednesday.
As deputy director, she will have a key role in workforce management, procurement, IT policy and the administration’s reorganization effort.
During her confirmation hearing in December, Weichert testified that cybersecurity along with moving to the cloud and shared services would be top of the agenda.
She also specified that her top priorities for the OMB would be data, accountability and transparency, and people and workforce.
Before joining the OMB, Weichert primarily held private-sector positions, including working as a principal at Ernst & Young. She has 25 years of business experience, which encompasses positions at Market Platform Dynamics, Bank of America and Andersen Consulting.
