Citizant Announces Acceptance as a CMMI Institute Partner

Citizant, a provider of Agile software development, DevOps automation, and business transformation and management services to the U.S. government, has been accepted as a Partner by the CMMI Institute. As a CMMI Institute Partner, Citizant is certified to provide official CMMI Institute services in Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
“The CMMI Institute is a driving force for organizational performance improvement and capability. Citizant’s U.S. government customers increasingly view CMMI standards as a critical element in producing predictable, high-quality results on both software and services programs,” said Pam Schoppert, Citizant’s director of Quality Programs. “As an industry partner known for delivering complex programs on-time and on-budget, Citizant can naturally extend our quality process management expertise to our customers’ organizations.”
“We are pleased to welcome Citizant as a CMMI Institute Partner,” said Kirk Botula, CEO, CMMI Institute. “As a provider of a world-class performance improvement framework that helps organizations achieve high-performance operations, organization] is among an elite group. CMMI Institute Partners are the only authorized external sources of official CMMI courses and services.”
In addition to its 10-year commitment to a quality management system comprising CMMI-DEV, CMMI-SVC, and ISO 9001, Citizant responds to customer requests to provide CMMI program planning and appraisal preparation support to customers including the IRS. At the IRS, Citizant supported process management and improvement efforts to maintain CMMI Maturity Level 3 (ML3) for a portfolio of 150+ projects with the IRS Application Development organization, and provided guidance in implementing CMMI ML4 processes for selected process areas and projects.
Less than 5 percent of all U.S. businesses with a registered CMMI appraisal – and only two dozen small government IT contractors – are appraised at ML3 or higher for both CMMI-DEV and CMMI-SVC. Citizant remains at the forefront of CMMI development and adoption by supporting the CMMI Next Generation Architecture Working Group and speaking about appraisal best practices at the annual CMMI Institute “Capability Counts” Conference.
