GSA Awards New Model Year 2022 Light-Duty Vehicle Contracts

Agencies can buy the new model year 2022 vehicles from GSA AutoChoice, lease them from GSA Fleet, or use GSA Schedule contracts.

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) awarded its contracts for the purchase of model year 2022 light-duty vehicles. The awards include both fossil fuel-powered vehicles and zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs). The agency leverages the buying power of the federal government by streamlining and simplifying the procurement process for federal agencies and industry partners.

“The GSA Fleet program purchases over $1.5 billion each year in high-quality vehicles and automotive services while saving money for federal agencies and taxpayers,” said GSA’s Assistant Commissioner for Travel, Transportation, and Logistics Charlotte Phelan. “For the fiscal year that just ended, federal partners purchased 47,350 vehicles from GSA, averaging more than 20% below dealer invoice — an estimated savings of $410 million. We expect even more zero emission vehicles to be purchased as agencies electrify their federal fleets as a result of President Biden’s Executive Order on climate change.”

Starting November 19, 2021, agencies can buy the new model year 2022 vehicles from GSA AutoChoice, lease them from GSA Fleet, or use GSA Schedule contracts to lease vehicles directly from schedule contractors.

This year, contracts were awarded to the following companies with a 60-month period of performance:

  • Acquisition Integration, LLC
  • Fleet Vehicle Source, Inc.
  • Ford Motor Company
  • General Motors LLC
  • Global Automotive
  • Holman Automotive
  • RRDS, Inc.
  • Stellantis N.V.

In addition to traditional fossil fuel-powered vehicles, GSA provides federal agencies with the opportunity to purchase an array of ZEVs, including battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) models. GSA awarded 16 model year 2022 light-duty ZEV vehicles across multiple brands and vehicle categories: sedans, vans, light-duty pickup trucks, crossover, and sport utility vehicles.

This light-duty vehicle solicitation will remain open for the entirety of the contract period for emerging technology vehicles, allowing GSA to keep pace with industry and onboard ZEVs as they become commercially available.

GSA is the mandatory source for non-tactical vehicles purchased by executive agencies in the United States. To learn more about the GSA Fleet program, check out gsa.gov/gsafleet. For information on GSA’s latest ZEV offerings, visit gsa.gov/afv.
