Hitachi Data Systems Federal Changes Name

Hitachi Data Systems Federal today announced it has changed its name to Hitachi Vantara Federal Corporation. The name modification, which aligns to its parent company’s recently announced name change to Hitachi Vantara, represents a new business entity designed to unify the operations of Hitachi Data Systems, Hitachi Insight Group, and Pentaho. This combination brings together the best of Hitachi’s information technology and positions the company to become an industry leader in providing end-to-end services in big data, analytics and the Internet of Things to both commercial and federal government industries.

Hitachi Vantara Federal has been a leader in operational technology (OT) for the federal government through providing solutions that have positively impacted their missions to better the lives of US citizens. The company has also been a leader in information technology (IT) bringing IT applications, analytics, content, cloud, and infrastructure solutions to agencies that have transformed the way they do business. Combining its expertise in OT with its proven IT product innovations and solutions, Hitachi Vantara Federal gives government customers a powerful, collaborative partner in data like no one else can in the industry.

“Changing our name is another milestone in our business transformation,” said David Turner, president and CEO, Hitachi Vantara Federal. “Our business is designed to leverage the breadth of innovation, development and experience from across the Hitachi group of companies to deliver data-driven solutions for federal government agencies. Our new name is a nod to our successful history in data management and infrastructure in virtualization and our successful VSP platform. It is also a name that represents our strategy for future growth and giving our government customers a vantage point to uncover new predictive and prescriptive analytics to improve business and successfully meet their agency’s missions.”

Hitachi Vantara Federal is uniquely able to help government customers extract all the value their data has to offer. By bringing new data-driven solutions and services to market, Hitachi Vantara Federal will help its customers achieve tangible outcomes that positively drive business and society forward.

The market opportunity for mission-critical data solutions has never been greater. Data is becoming a federal agency’s greatest asset—if they can extract actionable intelligence from it. Data holds the key to new revenue streams, better customer experiences, improved market insights and lower costs of doing business. Hitachi Vantara Federal can now provide a comprehensive offering to its customers that combines both OT and IT expertise to uncover data’s true potential.
