Window for Employers to Compete for 78,000 H-1B Visas Begins April 2

Employers should step up preparations on behalf of current and new workers required to have H-1B visas, since U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will begin accepting applications on April 2, according to The National Law Review. The window for applications for 2019 visas likely will last just a week, as it has recently, the review reported.

Only 65,000 H-1Bs are available annually, and 6,800 are reserved for citizens of Chile and Singapore. Another 20,000 visas are available for people with advanced degrees from U.S. schools.
