Jorge Diaz has joined SAIC as Senior Director for the Department of Homeland Security, State Department, and Department of Justice Growth and Innovation — a move he announced in a recent LinkedIn post.
With more than two decades of hands-on leadership in government IT transformation, Diaz is no stranger to navigating the federal space. His new role will focus on expanding mission-critical programs and forging strategic partnerships to support some of the government’s most complex security operations.
Before joining SAIC, Diaz led growth and innovation efforts at Peraton, where he helped shape and win contracts valued at over $4 billion across DHS and State. He’s credited with building high-performing engineering teams, advancing enterprise cloud strategies, and delivering infrastructure modernization solutions that aligned directly with agency missions.
He also served as Chief Engineer for DHS’s Data Center and Cloud Optimization (DCCO) program — a cornerstone effort to modernize and consolidate the department’s IT backbone. There, he led a 100-person technical team focused on cloud migration, innovation, and performance at scale.
Throughout his career, Diaz has held senior roles at Perspecta, HPE, and HP, supporting large-scale technology shifts across federal agencies including the U.S. Senate. His track record centers on pairing deep technical knowledge with a strong understanding of agency needs, delivering results where cybersecurity, cloud, and operational resilience intersect.
Diaz holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Western Governors University and an associate degree in Computer Engineering from Miami Dade College.
