Alyson Conley, a federal leader with a background in cybersecurity and public administration, has transitioned into the private sector, taking on a new role as Chief of Staff at Capital One. She announced the move in a recent LinkedIn post, marking a new chapter after more than a decade of service in government.
Conley most recently served as Chief of Staff at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), where she supported national cyber strategy and operations for nearly three years. Prior to stepping into the chief of staff role full-time in 2022, she also served as Acting Chief of Staff and as Senior Advisor to the Deputy Executive Assistant Director for Cyber, positioning her at the forefront of critical national security and infrastructure protection efforts.
Before joining CISA, Conley spent nearly seven years at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as a Program Examiner. Earlier in her career, she served in several roles at the Peace Corps, including Acting Director of Congressional Relations, where she was instrumental in liaising with Capitol Hill and coordinating high-profile events involving members of Congress and as Congressional Relations Specialist.
With a Master’s in Public Administration from American University and a B.A. in Economics from Providence College, Conley is well-positioned to support Capital One’s mission and operations at a time when digital security, organizational agility, and talent management are more critical than ever.
