Anthony Antognoli has taken on a new role with the U.S. Coast Guard as Program Executive Officer of Robotics and Autonomous Systems, he announced on LinkedIn.
Antognoli brings deep experience across defense, homeland security, and emergency management to the position. Most recently, he served as Acting Deputy Administrator at FEMA, where he was responsible for leading agency operations and supporting federal disaster response efforts. Prior to that, he spent five years at the Department of Homeland Security as Chief of Staff and Component Acquisition Executive, overseeing major acquisition programs and strategy.
This is not Antognoli’s first time working with the Coast Guard. From 2019 to 2020, he was a strategic advisor to the Coast Guard Cyber Commander and also served as Assistant Director of Marine Transportation Systems. Earlier, as a DHS liaison officer, he coordinated between the Coast Guard and the department’s Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office.
His career also includes more than a decade in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, where he held leadership roles in nuclear weapons program integration and long-range strike programs. Before entering federal service, he worked as a software engineer and consultant supporting projects for Intel, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and White Sands Missile Range.
