Beth Archibald Martin has recently joined the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as Branch Chief within the Customer Experience (CX) Directorate according to a LinkedIn post yesterday. Known for her two-decade career enhancing digital services and user experience design, Martin brings an extensive background in public sector innovation and design leadership to her new role at DHS, where she will oversee initiatives to improve service delivery and user experience.
Martin’s career includes significant roles across various federal agencies and academic settings. Before joining DHS, she served as a User Experience Design and Customer Experience Subject Matter Expert in Digital Services at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), focusing on advancing UX practices and modernizing service frameworks. Prior to OPM, she worked with the General Services Administration (GSA) on the Service Design Team within the Office of Customer Experience.
Alongside her federal service, Martin dedicated eight years as an adjunct faculty member at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she led the UX Design Speaker Series. Her role as an educator underscores her commitment to growing the next generation of public service professionals.
Beyond her federal and academic contributions, Martin actively volunteers on boards aimed at fostering public sector innovation and supporting those entering civil service careers.
