Carmen Zapata has announced on LinkedIn her new role as Chief Architect for Infrastructure and Cyber Risk Analytics at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT). Zapata has over 18 years of experience in data analytics, critical infrastructure risk management, and technology strategy.
Zapata’s career spans both the public and private sectors, including leading supervisory contract and federal staff in federal agencies such as the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Department of Agriculture. She previously served as Chief Technology Officer at FWDthink, Senior Technical Advisor at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and Deputy Associate Director for Analysis (A) at CISA’s National Risk Management Center. Her work has been instrumental in advancing data-driven strategies and technological solutions to protect critical infrastructure and reduce national security risks.
A graduate of Columbia University, Zapata brings deep expertise in industrial engineering, operations research, and supervisory leadership. Throughout her career, she has focused on harnessing data and analytics to deliver innovative solutions for complex security challenges.
