Claire Moravec Set to Join Sentinel as Director of Intelligence Operations for Social Media Exploitation

Claire Moravec will join Sentinel in the New Year as Director of Intelligence Operations for Social Media Exploitation, a move she announced today. The appointment brings to Sentinel a security and intelligence leader with experience spanning federal law enforcement, state homeland security, academia, and the private technology sector.

Moravec is a nationally recognized security and risk executive with more than a decade of experience protecting people, assets, and operations across complex threat environments. She began her career at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where she served as an intelligence and operations leader and was a founding member of the Bureau’s Social Media Exploitation (SOMEX) team. In that role, she helped shape early approaches to identifying and disrupting threats emerging from online platforms and supported high-impact counterterrorism and intelligence operations. Her work targeting digital threats linked to nation-state actors earned her the FBI Medal of Excellence in 2017.

Moravec also served as Senior Manager of Trust & Safety Response Operations at Snap Inc., where she oversaw responses to high-risk incidents involving platform misuse and user safety. She later became chief operating officer of a seed-stage threat intelligence startup focused on behavioral and insider threat assessment, helping build operational frameworks in a fast-growing company environment.

In addition to her operational roles, Moravec is an author at HSToday, where she has contributed multiple articles. She also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California, the University of Denver, and Saint Xavier University, teaching courses in emergency management, criminology, and clinical social work.

Moravec holds degrees from Columbia University and Loyola University Chicago and completed executive education through the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security Executive Leaders Program.
