Claire Moravec has joined Next Wave, The International Center for Children and Global Security, as an Advisor.
Claire Moravec is a nationally recognized security and risk executive with over a decade of experience protecting people, assets, and operations across government, technology, and industry. A former FBI intelligence leader and state homeland security executive, she has built and scaled global programs in security, trust and safety, crisis management, and intelligence operations. At the FBI, she was a founding member of the Social Media Exploitation (SOMEX) team and received the FBI Medal of Excellence for her work targeting digital threats linked to nation-state actors in 2017.
Moravec currently serves as Director of Intelligence Operations for Social Media Exploitation at Sentinel. Previously, as Deputy Homeland Security Advisor to the Governor of Illinois and the State’s inaugural Deputy Director of Homeland Security, she led major initiatives in targeted violence and terrorism prevention, school and campus safety, and critical infrastructure protection, and represented Illinois on the U.S. Secret Service Executive Steering Committee for the 2024 Democratic National Convention. In the private sector, she held senior trust and safety roles at Snap Inc. and served as COO of a threat intelligence startup.
In addition to her other roles, Moravec is also an author at HSToday, where she has contributed multiple articles.
Moravec holds degrees from Columbia University and Loyola University Chicago and is a FEMA Vanguard Executive Crisis Leaders Fellow.
