After more than a decade of public service, Cody Ferguson is taking on a new role in the private sector, joining Accenture Federal Services (AFS) as Principal Architect for Data & AI with a focus on its Defense and Intelligence portfolio. Ferguson shared the news on LinkedIn, noting that while his new role marks a fresh chapter, his mission to support the nation’s defense and security communities continues.
Ferguson’s transition to AFS follows 11 years with the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Navy, where he played a role in advancing the Department’s digital capabilities—particularly in data operations, enterprise analytics, and artificial intelligence.
During his tenure at the Pentagon, Ferguson served as a leader in the Office of the Deputy Chief Financial Officer’s Data Transformation Office. There, he helped develop the Advana platform, DoD’s flagship data analytics environment, and led the Budget Analytics portfolio, which supports critical financial and operational decision-making across the Department. His work on tools used in high-level briefings—including those delivered to the Deputy Secretary of Defense—demonstrates the level of trust and strategic impact associated with his contributions.
Prior to his work at the Pentagon, Ferguson held multiple roles within the Department of the Navy, including at the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Financial Management & Comptroller), the Office of Budget, the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV N80), and Commander, Navy Installations Command. His work ranged from audit readiness and financial improvement to budget formulation and enterprise systems support.
