Elhrick Cerdan has announced his new position as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge for Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Omaha. Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Cerdan expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am happy to share that I am starting a new position as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge for Homeland Security Investigations Omaha! A big thank you to all my federal, state, and local partners in the North Bay that made my tour memorable.”
Cerdan brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held several key positions at HSI. His previous roles include Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Resident Agent in Charge, National Program Manager, and Special Agent. In addition to his responsibilities at HSI, Cerdan also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Professional and Continuing Studies.
Cerdan’s law enforcement career began in 2009 at HSI Oklahoma City, where he was a founding member of the Green Twister HIDTA Task Force. This multi-jurisdiction partnership focuses on identifying and seizing the assets and criminal proceeds of Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs). During his tenure, he conducted complex investigations into financial crimes and drug trafficking activities tied to Mexican TCOs operating in the Western District of Oklahoma.
Cerdan holds both a Bachelor and Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami and a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University. Additionally, he earned a graduate certificate from the U.S. Naval War College in Naval Command and Staff (Joint Professional Military Education – I). He has been a certified Defensive Tactics Instructor for over a decade, ensuring his colleagues can safely apply different levels of use of force in dynamic situations.

He has a proven track record of working effectively with internal and external law enforcement and other government agencies to resolve complex cases. Cerdan’s ability to synergize the moving parts of investigations into successful resolutions has earned him recognition for his stellar motivation, organization, and planning.
