Former HSI Assistant Director Sean Fitzgerald Joins 5OH Consulting as Partner

Sean Fitzgerald, a former Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Assistant Director and career federal law enforcement executive, has joined 5OH Consulting LLC as a partner following more than 24 years of service with HSI.

Fitzgerald brings extensive experience leading cyber operations, investigative technology programs, homeland security initiatives, and organizational modernization efforts across the federal government. During his final assignment with HSI, he served as Assistant Director for the Cyber and Operational Technology Directorate, where he oversaw organizations responsible for cyber investigations, technical operations, intelligence support, digital forensics, innovation, and technology modernization.

According to his professional background, Fitzgerald managed organizations comprising hundreds of personnel and budgets exceeding $275 million during his federal career.

Prior to serving as Assistant Director, Fitzgerald was the Special Agent in Charge of HSI Chicago, one of the agency’s largest field offices. He also held a series of senior leadership positions, including Deputy Special Agent in Charge, Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Unit Chief within Domestic Operations, and Group Supervisor.

At 5OH Consulting, Fitzgerald will advise government contractors, technology companies, and financial services organizations on cybersecurity, investigative capabilities, public-private partnerships, digital asset protection, and federal engagement strategies. The firm specializes in helping clients navigate issues at the intersection of government, technology, and national security.

In addition to joining 5OH Consulting, Fitzgerald recently launched 18XI Advisors, a consulting firm focused on cyber strategy, operational technology, artificial intelligence, analytics, complex investigations, and national security-related advisory services.

His transition to the private sector follows a career that began in 2002 as a criminal investigator with HSI and culminated in senior executive service leadership positions overseeing some of the agency’s most significant cyber and operational technology missions.

Fitzgerald holds a bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration from Western Illinois University.
