Former U.S. Space Force Associate COO Bruce Hollywood Joins IBM Federal as Partner

Bruce Hollywood has joined IBM Federal as a Partner, a move he announced on LinkedIn. He brings more than three decades of military and national security leadership experience, including senior roles in the U.S. Space Force, the Joint Staff, and the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to his government service, Hollywood briefly worked in the private sector as Director of Defense and Security at Guidehouse. Before this, Hollywood served as Associate Chief Operations Officer for the U.S. Space Force at the Pentagon, where he supported oversight of operations, intelligence, sustainment, cyber, and nuclear operations. He also played a key role in the establishment of the Space Force in December 2019, helping guide its transition into an independent military service.

Prior to his Space Force leadership, Hollywood spent nearly a decade on the Joint Staff in Strategy and Plans (J5), where he contributed to the development of the National Military Strategy, the Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, and global campaign plans. His work frequently involved coordination with interagency partners to address national security challenges.

Hollywood also served as a White House Leadership Development Program Fellow, focusing on service member and veteran mental health and suicide prevention initiatives. Earlier in his career, he retired as a Colonel after 21 years in the U.S. Air Force, where he held operational and command positions, including Commander of the 320th Missile Squadron and Director of Operations for the 3rd Space Operations Squadron.

His educational background includes master’s degrees in Strategic Studies from Air University and in Administration from Central Michigan University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Southern Nazarene University.
