James Scobey Joins Keeper Security as New CISO

James Scobey has announced that he has joined Keeper Security, Inc. as their new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), following his previously announced departure from the same role at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Scobey, who had served as the CISO of the SEC since August 2022, brings a wealth of experience in technology and cybersecurity to his new position at Keeper Security.

At the SEC, Scobey played a critical role in advancing the agency’s cybersecurity posture, working closely with Chief Information Officer David Bottom and other senior leadership.

In addition to his time at the SEC, Scobey’s extensive background in the cybersecurity field includes co-founding S2i2, Inc., where he served as President and CEO of SigmaCyber. Scobey holds a Master of Engineering in Cybersecurity Policy & Compliance from The George Washington University and earned both a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and an MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
