Longtime U.S. Coast Guard officer Kevin Keefe has taken on a new role as Operations Officer at Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT) East, a move he announced on LinkedIn. Based in Chesapeake, Va., Keefe steps into the position after more than 15 years of Coast Guard service in leadership, enforcement, and strategic roles.
Keefe most recently served as a Strategic Analyst with the Commandant’s Advisory Group in Washington, D.C.. Before that, he was Chief of Enforcement at Sector New Orleans, overseeing law enforcement operations and maritime security efforts in one of the nation’s busiest ports.
Earlier in his career, he was Executive Officer at Maritime Safety and Security Team (MSST) New Orleans and previously held assignments as Central Assignments Coordinator at the Coast Guard’s Personnel Service Center, Operations Officer aboard USCGC Baranof in Bahrain, and Deck Watch Officer/Law Enforcement Officer aboard USCGC Dallas.
Keefe also serves on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Alumni Association, and his academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Government from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, a Master of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, and an Executive Certificate in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.
