Madison Sheahan has been officially sworn in as Deputy Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to official social media posts.

In her new role, she will supervise ICE’s day-to-day operations and lead over 20,000 employees assigned to more than 400 offices, including over 6,800 criminal investigators in Homeland Security Investigations and 6,000 officers in Enforcement and Removal Operations. Sheahan will also oversee the annual budget of more than $9 billion.
Sheahan formerly worked in numerous leadership positions under DHS Secretary Kristi Noem during Noem’s time as the Governor of South Dakota. Most recently, Sheahan served as the Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, where she oversaw a $280 million budget and led a team of over 800 employees across the wildlife, fisheries, and enforcement divisions.
