TWD & Associates Appoints Cathy Simpson as Vice President of Business Development

TWD & Associates, Inc. (TWD), a technology solutions provider, today announced that it has appointed Catherine “Cathy” Simpson as Vice President, Business Development. In this role, Cathy will help TWD enhance its 25-year record of evolving and growing its technology solution offerings to meet the federal government’s IT modernization needs.

Cathy brings to TWD more than 25 years of experience selling to the federal government. She possesses outstanding leadership skills and is well-versed in government contracting, having proven expertise in building strategic relationships with both industry partners and government end users.

“Cathy has a long and impressive record of successful business development with federal government customers across a broad range of technology solutions, with specific expertise in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS),” said Larry Besterman, President and CEO, TWD. “Her dedication to partnership and solving a customer’s problem rather than simply focusing on ‘making a sale’ aligns perfectly with TWD’s culture. We are excited to have Cathy join the company, and look forward to her taking the reins of our business development team.”

Prior to joining TWD, Cathy served as a senior member of the DHS sales and support team for Government Acquisitions, Inc., where she spent eight years assisting the department in identifying solutions that helped drive their mission and strengthen the agency’s ability to protect the homeland. She has also held senior sales roles with a focus on DHS for GTSI (now UNICOM Government), McDonald Bradley and CLMS.

“TWD has a long history of delivering mission-critical communications and collaboration solutions to the federal government,” said Simpson. “But what intrigued me was their forward-thinking mindset and the way they have embraced Agile and DevSecOps capabilities. With the federal government’s focus on IT modernization and digital transformation, this type of approach will be key to success. I am looking forward to bringing my skillset to the team.”
