Before joining GDIT, Smith spent three years as Deputy Chief of Staff for Emergency Communications at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), where he provided subject matter expertise on emergency management and public safety communications. He also previously managed emergency deployable programs at the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet), providing disaster analysis and communications support nationwide.
Smith’s background also includes a decade at Booz Allen Hamilton focused on Weapons of Mass Destruction and CBRN planning and exercises, as well as extensive volunteer service as a firefighter, EMT, and communications leader in the National Capital Region.
