Red Balloon and Siemens Partner to Protect Building Automation from Cyber Attacks

Red Balloon Security has partnered with Siemens Smart Infrastructure to deliver enhanced cybersecurity for its building automation systems. This collaboration will initially feature embedded security for Siemens building automation controllers and will be deployed in 2020.

Red Balloon Security’s technology integrates into the controller firmware and continuously verifies the integrity of the controller’s critical code and data, protecting controllers in real-time from cyber attacks.

By integrating Red Balloon Security’s firmware runtime protection, Siemens can offer an embedded security solution to harden its building controllers, helping its customers defend against advanced cyber threats to building automation systems.

Dr. Ang Cui, CEO of Red Balloon Security said that by integrating this level of host-based security, Siemens will be deploying “a first-of-its-kind” cyber defense for building controllers.
