Successful candidate must have demonstrated experience as a Scrum Master supporting large complex IT projects. Specific job responsibilities include the following:
Organizes and facilitates project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings.
Tracks and communicates team velocity and sprint/release progress.
Maintain process documentation.
Ensures that the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
Assists as needed with backlog maintenance.
Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
Assists with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs.
Assists the team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
Participates proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices.
Identifies and removes impediments and prevents distractions.
Facilitates discussion and conflict resolution.
Empowers the team to self-organize.
Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
Scrum Master certification from a recognized accreditation agency
Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field
At least 6 years of IT experience on systems development projects, preferably with experience in development roles
At least 3 years of experience in a Scrum Master role
Experience leading multiple, parallel Scrum teams
Experience guiding customers in adoption of Agile and DevOps principles
Experience using ALM products to manage the Agile process, preferably with Rational Jazz
Prior experience in implementing Agile / Scrum development practices in the Federal Government.
Prior experience in web development roles, especially .NET development experience.
