As Director of Emerging Technology for Zscaler, Patrick is responsible for the alignment of usable and secure Zscaler capabilities providing dynamic, mission-focused capability with tailored operations to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Communities (IC).

Patrick recently retired from the Army as a Signal Corps Chief Warrant Officer Four after 21+ years of service. Patrick’s experience over the last 15 years has been with the U.S. Special Operations community. Throughout his career, he has served as the Chief Technical Advisor to senior military leaders as well as performed both network and security engineer positions. He specialized in developing innovative and emerging technology solutions to both strategic and tactical missions globally.

Patrick holds degrees from the University of Oklahoma and University of Maryland University College, as well as industry certifications including 2 x CISCO Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) and a CISSP. He is married to a career Army Signal Officer currently serving on active duty and they have five children.

David Mille has two degrees from the Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI): Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Criminal Justice (2018) and Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Public Safety (2020). He decided to pursue a career within the intelligence community. He is currently a Cybercrime Analyst Fellow at the Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center in partnership with the Indiana Office of Technology. His ultimate goal is to become a full-time criminal intelligence analyst with the Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center.

Tim LeMaster is a veteran of the networking, cybersecurity, and infrastructure space. He spent 14 years at Juniper Networks as the Federal Systems Engineering Director before coming to Lookout in December 2014. Before Juniper he held various roles at General Dynamics, and NET ranging from network modeling to network operations. LeMaster also served 12 years in the US Air Force. As the Director of Systems Engineering at Lookout he helps customers understand the mobile security threat landscape and how to address the threats.

Robert Prigge, CEO of Jumio, is responsible for all aspects of Jumio’s business and strategy. Specializing in security and enterprise business, he held C-level or senior management positions at Infrascale, Secure Computing, McAfee, Quest Software, Sterling Commerce and IBM. The authors - Matthew Castle, Shaunil Chokshi, Daniel Jativa, Fahad Mirza, Michael Pattullo, Stephen Rudd, and Geoffrey Wright - are a part of The School of International Service Disinformation Research Team, a team of graduate students from American University’s School of International Service who are working on themes related to disinformation and the 2020 elections process. Through its collaborative efforts, with the assistance of Professor Jorhena Thomas, the team works with government and private sector partners to identify, expose, and counter disinformation targeted to the United States populace. Team members have a range of backgrounds and expertise (intelligence, military, Capitol Hill, etc.) that shapes their approach to the topic. The work herein reflects the contributors' research, analysis, and viewpoints and is not reflective of any professional or other affiliations of the contributors.

(Danielle) Stormy Kay Friday graduated from Ball State University in the fall of 2016 where she majored in meteorology and minored in emergency management and homeland security. In March of 2017 she started her career with Indiana Department of Homeland Security as a watch desk officer. In February of 2018 she accepted a promotion as a regional services specialist where she provided administrative support for 34 county emergency management agencies. In June of 2019 she was promoted once again and currently serves as a homeland security liaison where she serves as a conduit between the state and local governments and provides comprehensive emergency management support to the county emergency management agencies. Stormy is currently working towards her master’s degree in emergency management at Jacksonville State University.

Scott Lindley co-founded Farpointe Data in 2003, and holds the position of Vice President and General Manager. Prior to Farpointe, Scott was Director RFID Products at Keri Systems and Sales Manager North America at Motorola Indala Corporation. Scott holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona and a Bachelor of Arts from California State University in Sacramento, California.

Rukaya is a research fellow at the American Counterterrorism Targeting and Resilience Institute (ACTRI), where she researches the potential impact of Kenya-Somalia political tensions and COVID-19 on violent extremism in Kenya and Somalia, as well as exploring disengagement and rehabilitation efforts aimed at al Shabaab in Somalia.
Rukaya has engaged in research and CVE efforts in East Africa and the Middle East, working on projects that address the gendered dimensions of violent extremism, socio-economic exclusion, and unequal development. She has also done monitoring, evaluation, and policy design aimed at empowering marginalized groups. Rukaya also worked in Countering Piracy in the Horn of Africa (Doha, Qatar) in 2016. She obtained her Master’s degree in Foreign Policy and Diplomacy and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. She co-authored, ‘Violent Nonstate Actors in Somalia: al- Shabab and Pirates’, in Violent Radical Movements in the Arab World.
