CALIBRE Systems, Inc. Announces Promotion of Richard Pineda to CEO

CALIBRE Systems, Inc. (CALIBRE) has announced that Richard Y. Pineda has been promoted to President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mr. Pineda, who was named President in November 2018, succeeds Joe Martore, who will retire on May 31, 2019 after 15 years with the company.

His vision, energy, and determination have forged the successful record of performance the company has achieved. Looking forward, Richard Pineda is a highly effective manager and leader. His depth of knowledge and vast management experience will be an invaluable asset to the company. We are confident that he is the dynamic leader who will guide us successfully into the future,” said Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Joseph Reynolds.

Joe Martore said, “CALIBRE’s strength has always been its people. We have selected a proven leader to be our new President & CEO. Richard Pineda brings substantial experience to CALIBRE and a commitment to serve in the interests of the company’s clients and employee-owners. His talents will position CALIBRE to continue successfully executing its vision and mission. I have worked closely with Richard and the Board to implement a careful, deliberate, and effective transition, one that ensures the continued success of this wonderful company we have all worked so hard to build.”

In response to his promotion, Richard Pineda stated, “It is a distinct privilege to succeed Joe Martore as CEO of CALIBRE. As we embark on our 31st year in operation, I am thrilled to lead our great company of engaged employee-owners to the next level of success. Over several months, we have spent countless hours integrating acquired companies and contract vehicles, transitioning new key leaders, and strategically architecting the many ways in which we will service our clients with innovative management consulting and digital transformation solutions.”

Mr. Pineda joined CALIBRE in November 2018, as part of the acquisition of SPEAR, Inc. where he served as the Co-Founder and CEO. Earlier in his career, he was President of Dell Services Federal Government. Mr. Pineda received his B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech, and M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance and Management Information Systems from George Washington University. Mr. Pineda serves on the Board of Directors for the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum (SECAF), Laurel Grove Museum Association; is a member of the Virginia Tech President’s Leadership Council; and is the co-chair for the Northern Virginia Complete Count Committee in support of the 2020 Decennial Census.
