Preston Werntz New Chief Data Officer at DHS Office of Cybersecurity and Communications

DHS has appointed Preston Werntz as the new Chief Data Officer at its Cybersecurity and Communications Office.

Werntz was previously head of the technology services section at the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center, and has held a role at DHS since 2009.

Previously he help private sector positions, as vice president of Newbrook Solutions and systems architect at Mantech.

Werntz oversaw NCCIC’s Automated Indicator Sharing Program, designed to share cyber threat information between federal government and the private sector.
