Dan Finnegan, Manager of Industry Affairs at SIEMENS Smart Infrastructure, has been named the recipient of the 2019 Excellence in Fire & Life Safety Award at the Fire-Rescue International conference in Atlanta, GA.
The award, sponsored by the International Code Council (ICC) and the Fire & Life Safety Section (FLSS) of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), honors those who have dedicated themselves to saving lives and property through the development of codes and standards, supporting community risk reduction programs and fire-prevention practices, and demonstrating strong leadership techniques.
Dan Finnegan has served in fire protection and life safety over the last 40 years. Beginning his career in a Chicago suburb, he served as a fire inspector and managed the fire prevention division. His path quickly evolved into a career with Siemens. Throughout his career, Dan has served on countless committees and workgroups to aid in protecting our communities and firefighters. This includes serving as a member of the International Code Council’s International Fire Code Committee, the Fire Code Action Committee as well as a board member of the Fire and Life Safety Section of the IAFC.
Dan’s resume is filled with contributions to countless committees, all aimed at improving our built environment and helping to make our communities safe. Chairman Andy King stated, “Dan Finnegan is a true gentleman with a servants heart, he goes above and beyond to help where ever he can.” Dan’s work ethic and technical expertise make him one of the industry’s most recognized expert on fire and life safety systems.
