How We Found Bin Laden: NSA’s New Podcast Series Titled “No Such Podcast”

The National Security Agency (NSA) has launched an exciting new podcast series, “No Such Podcast,” offering listeners a behind-the-scenes look at the agency’s critical missions, including foreign signals intelligence (SIGINT) and cybersecurity. The podcast brings together experts from across the agency to discuss its role as a combat support agency, its foreign intelligence operations, and its efforts to protect national security.

In this episode, titled “How We Found Bin Laden: The Basics of Foreign Signals Intelligence,” NSA leaders and counterterrorism experts delve into the agency’s involvement in one of the most significant counterterrorism operations in U.S. history—the mission to locate and eliminate Osama bin Laden. Bin Laden, the mastermind behind the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that claimed nearly 3,000 American lives, was eventually tracked down through collaboration among multiple U.S. agencies, including the NSA.

Listeners will gain insights into how NSA’s foreign signals intelligence was instrumental in the decade-long manhunt. The episode demystifies the SIGINT cycle, explaining the process NSA uses to collect, analyze, and act on foreign communications. Listeners will also hear from a counterterrorism expert who was in the room when the word came in that Osama bin Laden had been eliminated.

Be sure to tune in and listen to “No Such Podcast“—available now on your favorite podcast platforms.
