Season 2 of Mics and Sirens Launches with Dr. Lori Moore-Merrell on Los Angeles Palisades Wildfire

Season 2 of the Mics and Sirens podcast kicks off with a powerful episode featuring Dr. Lori Moore-Merrell, former U.S. Fire Administrator and a member of the Homeland Security Today Editorial Board.

The first episode, titled “After the Firestorm: Palisades and Beyond,” revisits the devastating Los Angeles blaze earlier this year that leveled multiple neighborhoods and tested emergency response systems across the region.

Wildfires are often driven by wind, heat, and dense vegetation—but in this case, the destruction was intensified by something far more human: the structures themselves. The episode explores what happens when people’s homes are what propel flames into an unstoppable firestorm.
