In the latest episode of This Week in Immigration (Ep. 190), the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) brings together three of the nation’s top migration researchers to unpack one of the most hotly debated questions in U.S. immigration policy: How many unauthorized immigrants live in the United States?

BPC Senior Advisor Theresa Cardinal Brown moderates the discussion with Robert Warren of the Center for Migration Studies, Jeffrey Passel from the Pew Research Center, and Jennifer Van Hook of the Migration Policy Institute. The conversation focuses on the different methodologies used to estimate the size of the unauthorized population, the challenges of collecting accurate data, and how these figures shape policy discussions.
