Bringing more than 26 years of law enforcement experience to the table, former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) executive Susan Aarons has been chosen to fill the newly developed position of director, federal operations at the Wynyard Group, a market leader in crime fighting and security software.
Aarons will be based in Wynyard’s Arlington, Virginia headquarters office and will be directly accountable to Wynyard’s Vice President Americas Derek Brown. She will be responsible for aligning the company’s product vision and strategy to meet the needs of the US federal government. Wynyard’s products have been designed to address a number of big data challenges, including fraud, counterterrorism, and cybercrime.
“Susan brings an incredible investigative background in counterterrorism, national security and financial investigations,” said Brown.
Following graduation from Michigan State University, Aarons worked as a special agent for Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the component of ICE that serves as the critical investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security and is a vital US asset in combating criminal organizations illegally exploiting America’s travel, trade, financial and immigration systems.
After the September 11 terrorist attacks, Aaron’s used her expertise in Washington leading HIS and shaping interagency collaboration. More recently, Aarons guided the incorporation of national security investigations and counterterrorism endeavors within ICE, including the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, the National Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the Customs and Border Protection National Targeting Center.
“I am confident that her expertise in these areas, coupled with her dedication to building partnerships on a global scale, will be a tremendous asset as Wynyard continues to expand our footprint within the federal government,” Brown said.
