Three Deceased People Found by Border Patrol Agents in South Texas

U.S. Border Patrol agents discovered the bodies of three deceased people in South Texas.

On Thursday, the McAllen Border Patrol station responded to a report of a deceased person in the Rio Grande near Havana, Texas. The U.S. Coast Guard and La Joya Fire Department assisted in the recovery of the deceased from the water.

On Saturday, a U.S. Coast Guard riverine unit patrolling the Rio Grande near Mission, Texas, informed the McAllen Border Patrol station that they had encountered a deceased person. The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office along with Mission Fire Department responded and recovered the deceased from the river.

In both cases, a local Justice of the Peace ordered the deceased to be transported to the county morgue.

On Sunday, Kingsville Border Patrol agents patrolling ranchlands in Kenedy County encountered the body of a deceased person in the brush. Agents reported the discovery to the Kenedy County Sheriff’s Office, who alongside a local Justice of the Peace, pronounced the individual deceased. The deceased was then transported to the medical examiner’s office.

The Rio Grande Valley Sector currently has multiple campaigns focused on rescues and danger awareness, such as “Operation Big Rig” and “No Se Arriesgue” to combat smuggling and ultimately save lives. Call 911 to report suspicious activity; “They’re humans, not cargo!”
